Struggling with lighting for a dark skin tone in a high-contrast background setup. Any suggestions on key light placement or diffusers for mobile shoots?
Try using a double diffusion sheet or a lantern softbox offset by about 45 degrees. It wraps the light beautifully and keeps natural reflections on dark skin tones without causing harsh hotspots. Avoid direct lighting.
Also, push your exposure up slightly in camera and use a warm gold/white reflector for the shadow bounce. DNA's Lighting 101 course covers exactly this in Module 3!
